New Backing for Mexico's Agustin Carstens as Head of IMF

Canada and Australia have just backed Agustin Carstens over Christine Lagarde for Managing Director of the IMF, citing that Carstens holds more relevant experience. This action suggests that these 3 countries are not taking a backseat to the other nations. Mexico, Canada, and Australia combined represent close to 12 percent of the IMF’s voting shares.
