When traveling to Mexico, you should have on hand smaller denomination currency. US dollars are generally accepted in Mexico however it may be hard for vendors to break a large bill such as a $20 bill. Yes, you heard right - with a $20 US bill, you may be out of luck when trying to purchase items or may have a harder time paying for a taxi ride. Anyone else have any tips for carrying cash or pesos in Mexico?
