US dollars are generally accepted in Mexico however it may be hard for vendors to break a large bill such as a $20 bill. Yes, you heard right - with a $20 US bill, you may be out of luck when trying to purchase items or may have a harder time paying for a taxi ride. If you don't plan on leaving the hotel while on business in Mexico, this may not be as much of an issue, but it's a tip that could help you move more quickly in your business travels.
