South Korean Steel Maker Expands to Mexico

Pohang Iron and Steel Company (POSCO) is planning on expanding its Mexico operations. $300 million dollars is set aside to be invested in the second phase of POSCO's galvanized steel plant in Altamira, Mexico (located in Tamaulipas, a northern state bordering the US).

Mexico is currently seeing a surge in investments in its automotive industry, which can attributed to the expansion of this plant. Construction of the plant will start in November and the tentative date for completion is June 2013.
