Mexican Coca Cola Bottler FEMSA Acquires Rival

FEMSA, which is known as the largest beverage company in Mexico, recently received the title of largest independent Coca-Cola bottler in the world as of September 2011. Coke FEMSA acquired its smaller rival, the family-owned Tampico, with a deal to the tune of 9.3 billion pesos ($702 million). Tampico is a supplier of juice concentrates and sells in over 50 countries.
